Tips in finding that perfect gown
Where does one begin to shop for their bridal gown? Your wedding gown is one of the most important and sentimental outfits you will own, so how does one decide what is the “perfect” gown?
Begin with sitting down and deciding on your personal budget for your gown. Even an approximation would provide some guideline. Buy some current bridal magazines to see what styles appeal to your taste, and take that with you when you shop. Be open minded, and ask for suggestions. What looks nice in a photo worn by a model may not necessarily work for you, so taking some advice from a knowledgeable staff member and trying on various styles will give you the opportunity to see what may work for you. Our full service bridal salon will always assist you in trying on without pressuring you into a hasty decision.
Wedding gown prices are varied; there are always less costly yet similar styles available of whatever you may be looking for. But one must be realistic. If you are searching for a near duplicate of a specific gown priced in the thousands, you will not find the “exact” gown worth thousands for a few hundred. By trying on gowns within your price preference from the beginning, it will eliminate heart aches later on.
Price discounts from stores can also lead to troubles. Do you want to sacrifice the service necessary just for that decreased price? You should always ask yourself some questions. Are there hidden fees that have not been disclosed that you will pay for at the end? Do they offer in house alteration service? Or will they send you elsewhere, therefore taking no liability for any mistakes made for that alteration. Is pressing of your bridal gown included? FIND OUT before making that decision.
A truly discounted bridal gown are one that may be discontinue in the short future and the store are willing to sell that gown to you with a price deduction. Ask the store if you are interested in those inventory.
When shopping for your wedding gown, try on no more than 6 to 8 gowns each time. Give yourself time to think about what you have tried on so you can make an intelligent decision. When shopping with friends and family, remember their opinion may help you, but the end decision will be yours to make. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but, because the fact is that we all have different tastes. You must decide on that purchase on your own. Mistakes made can cause you to buy more than one bridal gown at the end.
Recommended time to purchase your bridal gown is 6 to 8 months before your wedding. Bridesmaids are 4 to 6 months. However, many manufactures are able to accommodate last minute weddings with stock merchandise. A rush fee may be needed.
